Petak, 18. 4. 2008.
Termin Radionica
9:00 - 17:00 OpenDocument Workshop
Machtelt Garrels, Belgium

What is a standard, an open standard, what is ODF? What is the importance of ODF? What applications exist supporting ODF? ODF vs. OOXML; Preparing a migration: analysis of the existing ICT environment. What to migrate, how to migrate? Compatibility with customers, dealers and third parties. 9:00 - 17:00 Moodle = Sveobuhvatno Open Source rješenje za inovativnu edukaciju
Živana Komlenov, Univerzitet u Novom Sadu

Radionica će dati odgovor na pitanje kako i zašto je Moodle munjevitom brzinom postao najpopularniji Open Source LMS. Pogled iz vizure studenta, nastavnika i administratora daje presjek benefita na primjerima uspješne upotrebe osnovnih i naprednih funkcionalnosti. Prikazat će se i testirati novosti u verziji 1.9: poboljšanja u pogledu skalabilnosti i performansi (profinjena implementacija hijerarhije uloga i privilegija); bulk user actions - masovna manipulacija korisničkim nalozima; groupings - hijerarhija grupa i mogućnosti timskog rada; poboljšana baza pitanja i njihovo fleksibilnije kreiranje i dijeljeno korištenje u različitim kontekstima; gradebook - potpuno nova spreadsheet-like implementacija (ocjenjivanje i stvaranje izveštaja); outcomes - ishodi učenja (kompetencije) vezani za aktivnosti ili tečajeve.

9:00 - 10:50 Ruby on Rails 2
Mislav Marohnić

Seminar "Ruby on Rails 2" pokriva značajnije mogućnosti najnovijeg Rails frameworka pri razvijanju web aplikacija.

11:00 - 13:00 Building clusters with GlusterFS and Automating sysadmin tasks for large amount of servers
Marian Marinov, Siteground Ltd. Bulgaria

Installation of GlusterFS: requirements, kernel - FUSE as module, kernel - GlusterFUSE, libraries, TLA, building GlusterFS. Configuration of GlusterFS: configure GlusterFS server, configure GlusterFS client. Testing our configuration: performance testing, performance tuning. Automating sysadmin tasks on many servers: multy-command.sh, scopy, mcopy, sexec, mexec, the handy Expect.

14:00 - 18:00 Building IPsec Virtual Private Networks with OpenBSD
Mitja Muženič, Kerberos, Slovenija & Wim Vandeputte, The OpenBSD Project, Belgium

The scope of this workshop is to explore and demonstrate how to set up and administer IPsec VPN connections using a free and secure operating system - OpenBSD.

In the first half of the workshop we will look into creating a sane and secure platform for a VPN gateway, so we will take a look at the basics of installing, configuring and maintaining a minimalist, yet full functional OpenBSD firewall/router. A full live installation of the operating system, complete with typical post-installation tasks such as configuring the network, writing firewall rules and keeping your system up-to-date, will be done in this segment.

The second half of the workshop will focus on IPsec proper. We will briefly overview the theoretical background of IPsec and explain some terms and concepts that are key to understanding how IPsec in general works, then progress to OpenBSD's implementation-specific details. We will examine some real-life VPN scenarios and how to implement them using the tools available, complete with live demos. An integral part of configuring a VPN connection to a remote site is solving interoperability and misconfiguration problems, so some tools and techniques for identifying those issues will also be discussed.
